From Passion to Product: A Workshop with Boston Consulting Group

We recently hosted a vibrant and meaningful Pride-themed workshop with Boston Consulting Group, where creativity, connection, and clean ingredients took center stage. From hands-on shower steamer making to meaningful conversations about our mission and story, this event reminded us why we love what we do.

Last Friday, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting another Pride-themed Shower Steamer Workshop, this time with an incredible team from Boston Consulting Group. These workshops have become a favorite of ours — not just because they’re fun and hands-on, but because they let us share the heart and soul behind Root’s.

Participants dove right in, creating their own custom shower steamers using essential oils of their choice. As we mixed and molded, we explored the benefits of different oils, talked about why we love using witch hazel, and where mica powder comes from.

But beyond the ingredients and the how-to’s, we had honest conversations about why we do what we do. We shared our mission to keep our ingredient list simple and clean — always avoiding harsh chemicals, and focusing instead on natural, safe, and effective ingredients. We want everything we make to be something we’d use ourselves, around our loved ones (furry friends included), and in our own home.

One of the highlights of the workshop was sharing the story of how Becca and I met and how that relationship led to the creation of our business. From a shared passion for creativity and intentional living, to the excitement of bringing people together through workshops and thoughtful products, it was so special to reflect on our journey with a group of such kind and curious people.

We’re especially grateful to have hosted this event in celebration of Pride — something deeply important to us. Being able to create a space where people can connect, learn something new, and feel celebrated is truly what excites us.

This workshop reminded us of how lucky we are to do this kind of work. Thank you to Boston Consulting Group for showing up with such great energy and to all of you for being part of this growing community. Here’s to more creativity, more connection, and more celebrations like this one.
