Our First Market Adventures and What’s Next

We are excited to share the stories of our first two market events with you. These experiences have been monumental for us, bringing growth, joy, and invaluable learning opportunities.

Our First Market: The Boho Market in Sugar Land Town Square

Our journey began at The Boho Market in Sugar Land Town Square, and what an incredible start it was! We were thrilled but admittedly a bit nervous as we set up our booth for the first time. Thankfully, the support from our community—neighbors, family, and friends—was overwhelming and heartwarming.

At this market, we showcased some exclusive items that were not yet available in our online shop. These included colorful dog bandanas, a variety of candles, eucalyptus shower steamers, and hand-painted coasters. These exclusive products were a hit, attracting a lot of attention and positive feedback.

One of the highlights was the dog-friendly environment, allowing us to bring the face of our small business, Root. He had a great time meeting new people and other dogs, and his presence certainly helped draw in a crowd. Seeing Root interact with everyone was such a nice experience and highlighted the community spirit we value so much.

The success of our first market was a cause for celebration! We ended the day with beer, food, and excitement about our future. This positive experience motivated us to apply for more markets.

Our Second Market: VIBE Artisan Market at POST Houston

Within a few weeks, we were packing up our products again and heading to POST Houston to participate in the VIBE Artisan Market, a weekend-long event. The crowd at VIBE was enormous, and we had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful people and vendors.

This indoor market presented us with new challenges and opportunities. The smaller space forced us to rethink and redesign our entire setup, pushing us to get creative with our displays. We made several adjustments throughout the weekend to optimize our booth, and it paid off. We sold out of several products, including our newly featured car diffusers, and learned a great deal in the process.

The VIBE Artisan Market was a lot of fun and helped us expand our Root's community both in-person and on social media. The connections we made and the feedback we received were invaluable, inspiring new ideas and strategies for our future.

Looking Ahead

Both of these market experiences have fueled our enthusiasm and sparked numerous ideas for growth. We are actively looking for new markets to participate in and ways to expand our business. Keep an eye out for announcements about future in-person markets as well as virtual workshops!

We would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions for markets where we might be a good fit, ideas for virtual workshops, or any other opportunities you think we should explore. Your input and support mean the world to us!
